Let's compare D3000 with D40. Both cameras produced Nikon. These models are included in the Entry-Level DSLR cameras. Nikon D3000 was released in 2009, and Nikon D40 in 2006. D3000 is newer, which is a plus. D40 3 years older. However 3 years, the difference is not so bad.
